Anonymous strikes down Andhra Pradesh Dev co. site

Anonymous is at it again, this time it’s the Andhra Pradesh Power Development company’s site that’s under attack. Accessing it directs you to a page that’s been planted by Anonymous on their site. The hacking was done this morning soon after which Anonymous and their associates posted messages talking about the hacking attack. The post read “#DEFACED ---> http://www.apgenco.gov.in/anon.html”while some of the others posted messages such as “@AnonDDoS @Anon_Central @AnonHackNews Oops Tango Down and tango Defaced http://www.apgenco.gov.in/anon.html Viva #india”
The defaced site
As with other hacked sites, Anonymous has left back their message on the now defaced site.
“We are anonymous.
We are legion.
We do not forgive.
We do not forget.
You should have expected us!
Citizens of India, This site was hacked to protest internet censorship. For the past few days we have been protesting internet censorship in India by taking down India government websites and any site that supports the blocking of file sharing websites. It is time you wake up to the nightmare that is your government! It is time you stand up for what is right. Do not let your government censor you! It is time for you to take charge. It is time you say "Enough is enough". It is time we end this cycle of corruption. Expect revolution, expect us!

The post announcing the defacing
Anonymous India has continuously been attacking sites related to the government and political parties. Today’s attacks were a part of the build-up towards the 9th of June deadline that Anonymous has set for the government and ISPs who have blocked a number of sites over the past few weeks. File-sharing websites, like ThePirateBay and Vimeo were brought to their knees when all major ISPs across the nation went on a ‘torrent sites blocking spree’, in a bid to curb online piracy. A John Doe order, dated 29th of March, 2012  filed with the Madras High court by a Chennai-based firm, Copyright Labs had reportedly triggered off the entire incident and the issue at the heart of it was the release of two movies, Dhammu (Telugu) and 3 (Tamil). This move towards web censorship by the owners of the content did not go down too well with the popular hacktivist group, Anonymous and in their response to the block of the torrent sites, the group hacked the official websites of the Supreme Court and that of the All India Congress Committee, and Reliance, soon after.
Anonymous also has a peaceful protest planned for the 9th of June, which it plans to carry out across several cities in the country, which include Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Indore, among others on the aforementioned date. On the group’s blog page, the June 9 schedule has been put down.

Do Humans Dream Of Android Prostitutes?

In the next five years or so it will be possible to build lifelike robots. These robots will look, move, and feel like fellow humans — but, unless the technological singularity comes early, these robots won’t be excellent conversationalists. According some recent research, though, they will make fantastic prostitutes.
Number Six, a skin-job cylon from Battlestar Galactica
If you’ve ever read a sci-fi novel or spent a little time thinking about the future, the concept of having sex with a robot probably doesn’t surprise you — I mean, it’s going to happen eventually, right? If you’re like me, though, you probably thought about having sex with a cyborg, an intelligent robot that is convincingly human — something like that hot blonde from Battlestar Galactica (pictured above), or Data from Star Trek — not some dumb sexbot.
Still, there’s a lot to be said for robostitutes. Instead of heading down to the local red light district and engaging in dangerous coitus with a prostitute that might be infested with a veritable smorgasbord of STDs, you could book a session with a sterilized-between-tricks prostibot. If you had enough money, you could of course just buy your own sexbot, and just haul her out of the cupboard when needed.
In one fell swoop, at least according to Ian Yeoman and Michelle Mars (the authors of recent paper called “Robots, men and sex tourism.” [paywalled]), robots will cleanse the world of… well, almost every sex-related ill that plagues humanity. With robots that bend and flex and kowtow to our every desire, the sexual side of human trafficking — the billion dollar trade of moving (usually young) sex slaves around the world — will disappear. Sexual predators, instead of abducting victims, will be able to order a sexbot to spec; if they want a robot that looks like a young child, or a wrinkly geriatric, so be it.
Men and women, instead of cheating on their spouses, will be able to hook up with a robot (it’s the same as using a sex toy). Heck, once robots gain a little more intelligence, you could even go the whole hog and marry a robot instead of a fellow human being. Ostensibly these marriages would be for people who don’t want all of the intrinsic messiness of human relationships, but that isn’t to say that you couldn’t fall in love with a robot. David Levy of the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands, another sex-with-robots researcher, predicts that human-robot marriage will be legalized as soon as 2050.
Is it really that simple, though?

For a start, sexbots are likely to be very expensive; Realdolls, the world-famous, lifelike silicone sex dolls (pictured below), start at $6,000. Adding motors and computers — animatronics — will likely drive that cost upwards of $20,000 (though, with increasing demand and improvements in technology, that price would come down). Even so, the depressing truth is that trafficked humans are cheaper and more plentiful.
A Realdoll, with her clothes onThere’s also the human element of sex. While one day it might be possible to create living, breathing, sweating, robots — skin-job cylons — they will never be truly human. These sexbots will almost certainly fall smack bang in the middle of the Uncanny Valley, and — unless you have a robot fetish — will be incredibly creepy as a result. I don’t want to turn this into something resembling a psychology midterm, but sexual desires (both healthy and otherwise) can be very specific. If a businessman really wants to sleep with a young Russian girl, and experience everything that goes along with that (the screams, the squirming, the illicit thrill, and so on), a sexbot just won’t cut it. The human face is capable of expressing a wide gamut of emotions — if you want to see fear, or shock, or awe in the eyes of your sexual partner, robots won’t do it for you.

These sticky issues aside, though, robot sex slaves are coming whether we like it or not. The sex industry is too lucrative, and research into robotics and AI shows shows no sign of slowing down. First there will be a robotic sex doll, with servos and “realistic” sound output, and then when human-level machine intelligence rolls around (~2030-2050), sentient, conversational prostibots will emerge. At this point, we might finally have robots that can satisfy even the most exacting needs of sexual deviants.
Of course, the irony is that sentient, lifelike robots are, well, human. The moment that a robot becomes self-aware, is it really OK to rape her (him? it?) It’s impossible to predict how sentient robots will be viewed in the eyes of the law — really, this is another kettle of fish entirely; one that I’ll definitely write about in the future — but I’m fairly certain that we won’t condone robot trafficking.
Ultimately, then, robostitutes are stuck between a rock and a hard place: Dumb variants are unlikely to ever claw their way out of the Uncanny Valley (or be cheap enough to replace human sex slaves); and sentient robots will be “blessed” with enough intelligence that you might as well make love to a human. The flip side, of course, is that sentient robots might actually make better partners than humans — they won’t age, they’ll probably be stronger than us, and they might even be more intelligent. But then again, why would a sentient robot ever marry a human? They would just marry each other. And have ubermensch progeny. And eventually take over the world.

Samsung Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 5

The Samsung Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 5 is going to be the ultimate smartphone showdown. It will be the final battle between the two biggest contenders in the smartphone market. There are so many people out there that don’t know what to make of the showdown between the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 5. They don’t know which one to get, and they haven’t really thought about it. There are so many benefits to getting the iPhone 5, and it is a much better phone. It is the true phone, and everything else is just an imitator. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is just an iPhone 5 knockoff.
Here is a rundown of the new pros of the Samsung Galaxy S3.
It will be a snappier and bigger version of the smartphone, and it is expected to take a large share out of Apple’s market share. There were lots of rumors about it, and now all the rumors are revealed. People are still unsure about what to expect from the Samsung Galaxy S3. Some of the rumors are confirmed though. Fans don’t have to speculate.
It will have a 4.8-inch screen, which is much bigger than its current 4.3-inch screen. Compare that to the current 3.5-inch screen of the iPhone. It will have an HD Super AMOLED display too. It will also have an 8-megapixel camera. It will have Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system too.
The screen size and resolution are a huge jump over the iPhone. It is a big change. It could take too many fans away.
There are a lot of new features that are expected to come with it like zero shutter lag, select a shot, and recording a video.
Pebble blue and marble white will be the two colors it has. It will be an incredible phone that will make a difference to smartphone users everywhere. It is promising to be one of the most successful phones to be released by Samsung. There are a lot of people that are a little scared about it coming out because they think it will steal all of iPhone’s market share. However, people should be aware that it is an evolution, not a revolution. Most smartphones are evolutions, and this is no different. Apple fans don’t need to worry that this will make too much of a difference to them. They should still look forward to Apple.
