Agent Jadoo is an anti piracy software for monitoring the download/upload of latest pirated movies, songs etc on the Internet, launched a few weeks ago.
It is the brainchild of actor /director/engineer Prakash Bhare, techie Stephen Antony, Rashid MA a legal consultant and advocate C.P. Unnikrishnan, a high court lawyer.
Explaining the reasons for launching this new software Prakash says, “Digital media took centre stage in the movie business a couple of decades ago and audiences got access to content through television, tapes, disks, flash drives and so on making it easy to pirate films. This led to two thirds of Kerala’s theatres closing down and yearly film production being reduced to half. Agent Jadoo targets the umbilical cord of piracy —the Internet, which feeds other forms these days.’’ A number of M’Town films have used the services of Agent Jadoo like Diamond Necklace, Thattathin Marayathu, Spirit and Chattakkari.
Agrees Abhinay Deo, director of Delhi Belly, “Piracy is eating into a major chunk of our business. Filmmakers work really hard to reach audiences through their work but illegal uploads of songs and videos affect profits. A software like this is the need of the hour as it’s important to tell people that piracy is illegal and can get one in trouble. Today most educated people put up new releases on various websites without realising how these can affect the complete strategy of a director who wants to reach the masses in his own way. Bollywood or any film industry will definitely benefit from such an initiative.’’
Director Lal Jose of Diamond Necklace is gung ho about Agent Jadoo. He says, “Any person, anywhere in the world, who uploads any songs or films illegally onto any site, will get a direct warning and be served with a legal notice! This software is vigilant 24 hours of the day. Sadly, the industry is also to blame as there has been huge negligence from our side.’’
Allison Patel, director of the film ?, says that such software applications may help but not completely. “The system of filmmaking that we follow in India is not very standard. Yash Dave and I, being technical students tried hard to prevent our film from being downloaded illegally but it still was. We released our film on the Internet for viewers in the US, but within hours it was being watched in India as well. We couldn’t do anything even after being technically aware,” he says.
Agent Jadoo has servers around the world and processes to monitor, detect and tackle piracy related activities on the net. Says Prakash, “Content owners sign up with us and authorise us to act on their behalf. We work with them and the law enforcement agencies as required. We have been able to ensure zero piracy for all the films protected by Agent Jadoo!’’
However, according to Allison, software like Agent Jadoo may only give a short-term solution. “But to stop piracy completely, the Indian film industry needs to work hard. It will take a lot of time before we finally come up with fool-proof solution,” he says.
All said and done, this jadoo is certainly working in M’Town, at least for now and one hopes other segments of the Indian film industry will soon be able to test its effectiveness as well!

As per Indian Law
1.They need to first ARREST MICROSOFT officials for releasing windows XP,7,8 for encouraging/helping/allowing the users to Watch/Download/Upload movies
2.Next they should arrest the utorrent, bit torrent Client Software Developers for allowing the users to Watch/Download/Upload movies
3.Next is the ISP for not providing any warning to torrent sites and for youtube
4.Google for allowing the user to search the unauthorized copyright content in Youtube and in Google Search
5.Pirate Bay Owners for allowing the Sharing
Do they have BALLS to Arrest these 5 first?
Americans and European Union knows these loopholes thats why they are not successful in doing Anti Piracy.
Mr Jadoo: By the by even my neighbor 6 year old boy knows how to get the IP of Seeders and Leeches.DONT ACT TOO SMART
The songs and teasers are uploaded by the filmmakers for promoting their movie..
ReplyDeleteIs it illegal watching those????
To a common man, how to know what are legal uploads and what are illegal ???
if you have balls first shut down the whole internet.....
ReplyDeletehow do we know a video is legal or illegal????
ReplyDeletewe are not too smart..... but we are smart to know this
It was Agent Jadoo who discovered that a Malayalam film is being downloaded in the Afghanisthan-Pakistan border. Also they target the uploaders.
ReplyDeletehttp://hackersreunited.net/internet/torrents/how-to-bypass-agent-jadoo-anti-piracy-tool/
ReplyDeleteCheck the above link. It will help you in downloading without getting caught by agent jadoo
then y internet, then y telecommunication stop all those 3rd generation technologies and lets live on the 15th centuries. that will be better.
ReplyDeleteY a movie cost that much. who is getting those amount only actors and persons in film industries. best thing is that dont make any movie. kept quite . or event do give much advertisements about the movie. in such condition peoples wont get any temptation to trace the movie. ultimately the first culprit the movie marketing persons. then the film makers and last the actors they all make the peoples to do the crime
Now a days we could download by changing our ip addresses...
ReplyDeleteJadoo traces ips only no..
then one more thing if someone has downloaded from internet cafe, then how u'll catch dat guy instead of cafe-owner:p
The director/producer can go all day long saying it is their intellectual rights and all.
ReplyDeletethey will say go to a theatre and watch it.I'm even ready to do that.but who determines the rates of the tickets? If the rates doesn't suit me what is my alternative?Don't I have any right to entertain myself? After all,you invaded into my world, right from the radio teasers to youtube trailers when I didn't even ask for it.I'm not a saint to ignore every temptation of yours, then you fix a rate which I can't afford..and when I devise my own way to assert my right to entertainment, you give me all the bullshit in the world about intellectual property and send me a legal notice via agent jadoo? Why can't you director guys see this simple reason that when I download it from somewhere it clearly shows that either way I wouldn't have gone to a theatre to watch that movie. So why are you expecting anything from me in the first place?Extrapolating from this we can land up in an area where only the rich have the right to everything and no one else. And suppose we pay for every movie or song then what miracle has these directors done to keep earning lifelong for a 2 hour flick? And going by their logic if the poor/unwilling have no right to entertain themselves then shouldn't they be invading the visual audio spaces of those who want to spend that amount for their movie before they embark on a project of theirs and stop soliciting every person after they have made one?I know I am stealing but isn't it that you made me steal it in the first place?
First u people need to initiate the action for blocking these bittorrent downloading websites and you tube. People are downloading because it is freely available for us.. Then Y cant u block it in india ? then there will be having meaning for arresting people.... india never will be succeeded...
ReplyDeleteif you go to agent jadoo website it shows when the protection is expiring.
ReplyDeleteWhat does that mean. after this date we can download, or condom expired or what????
