Aakash Tablet Review

Aakash ,the most awaited low cost tablet hitting the world tablet era.Aakash tablet is manufactured by a U.K based company Datawind along with Indian Government.It got somuch apprecition from other countries.But sad to say that Aakash 1(student version) is not come to expectation.
This review says the rest:
DISPLAY
First talking about touchscreen ,since it is a resistive touchscreen its responce of touch is slower than capacitive display devices.
OPERATING SYSTEM
The tablet contains Android 2.2 OS,but we can't access Android Market Place.However,Java support is there ,so we can download apps from website and can be used and is working properly(downloaded from getjar.com).
PDF SUPPORT
PDF in tablet works perfectly.There is not much lag to move from one page to another page.it only takes 5-10 seconds to load next page.
MICROSOFT OFFICE DOCUMENT
The Microsoft office in the tablet is satisfactory.The pictures and special characters get jumbled,when we try to read it and the page has significant lag also.
OFFICE SUITE
Aakash tablet contains preloaded office suite but creating and editing office document is not working.For document editing there is a text editior like NotePad which worked properly.
STREAMING VIDEO LIKE YOUTUBE 
Streaming via YouTube is good thinking for the youngsters by the Datawind but there is some flicker effect occurs when we try to stream video from youtube.
PLAYING AUDIO AND VIDEO
Aakash supports different audio formats and had successfuly played few mp3 files but some other mp3 files are not worked properly.
Video quality is less and it not comes to the expectation.
USB PENDRIVE SUPPORT
Aakash tablet contains 2 USB slots .USB (1GB and 4GB) worked properly but high capacity portable harddisk is not recognized by the tablet (1 TB Seagate).Another problem is that,when the device is goes for sleeping mode while transferring the data from SD card as well as USB pendrive getting rejected automatically.
And an error occurs when a 2GB micro SD card is inserted saying that 'SD Card is unexpectedly removed'
INTERNET BROWSER
The loading time in internet browser is acceptable.
USER INTERFACE
The default launcher is really sucks as its gives a congested feeling on the screen.Scrolling is difficult because you don't have any enough gap between apps to touch your finger on the screen to scroll.Majority of the time you will end up with opening an app while trying to scroll .You have to keep your finger in between the app on a empty screen carefully,if you wanted to scroll the page.

AT THE END
As it is a low cost tablet,we can't expect more from it.We cannot even compare it with IPAD
                                 However we can say,it make a revolution in Digital World.Lets hope in future version (Aakash 2) basic will be corrected.
